i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weeksSeriously, Crinkz, you’re banned again now, for posting harmful links in General Discussion, something that would probably be banworthy no matter what forum it was posted in?
Why? Seriously, why?
I feel dirty & scummy for sticking up for you now. (view post) |

Just making sure I've got this rightDammit, Crinkz. You were unbanned for what, 10 minutes before you did something to get banned again?

I think it's time to remove the Flamebate leaderboard.scullyangel Posted: I have no problem with the rules being updated as needed. I do have a problem with a non-bannable action resulting in a player ban, and then an immediate rewrite of the rules to justify the ban.
Anyone remember The Dukes of Hazard? Remember how Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane would entrap people by switching out speed limit or stop signs, and all of a sudden, the Hog’s Tavern bar would have some famous country-western singer or band playing a show to work off their exorbitant fine?
All we need here to complete the analogy is to allow people to pay BP to lift their ban.
Just my non-RPing two cents. Please advise me via Tubmail if I have unknowingly violated an unwritten secret rule. I don’t think I’m currently on double-secret probation, so I should be okay. (view post) |

i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weeksCrinkz Posted: You’re welcome. Be more careful in the future, and if there’s any ambiguity possible about one of your posts in a non-RP forum, clarify your intent. I can’t promise that I’ll be in your corner next time.
Now, out of curiosity, were you trying to RP with the thread in question, or was that an actual Game Discussion related… er, discussion? (view post) |

i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weeksTUBSWEETIE Posted:
Was this thread in the wrong place, though?
For that to be true, then his thread must be viewed as a RPing attempt. But as SimplytheBest just pointed out, CZ has a love of easter eggs for this game, and as such, it is well within reasonable assumption that this was a legitimate game discussion matter.
Tubs, by your above post, you are admitting that you were biased in your assessment of any of Crinks’ posts because of his prior offenses. In other words, you began with the presumption that he was RPing in a non-RP forum. But as many of us have said, it is unclear if this was RPing or not.
Does this mean that the benefit of the doubt is no longer even an option if someone has prior offenses?
Does this mean that if Crinks ever posts with any sort of internet lingo, such as ‘lol’ or ‘hai guyz’, that means he’s automatically RolePlaying instead of simply using internet slang?
It’s obvious that you were pre-biased in your assessment of the thread in question, based on Crinks prior bans. And I suggest that you overreacted. If a convicted bank robber doesn’t come to a complete stop at a stop sign, the cops don’t throw him back in jail for 20 more years.
Additionally, since it has not been proven that the thread in question actually was RPing (even with the second post by Crinks in the thread), then this was an unfair ban.
I’d like to say that I’m sad to see that this has happened, but I can’t. If I said I was sad, then I’m afraid that someone would insist that I was Role-Playing as an EmoKid. Because obviously the line between RPing and actual discussion is too blurry for some people. Maybe when Crinks gets back from his ban, he should just preface every non-RP post with ‘This is a non-RP post. Please don’t jump to conclusions.’ (view post) |

The point was that, at that time, they were discussing a viable and strong Dom strategy. There’s no need for BF or BoD to make those same observations, because it’s ancient history. It’s Dom Raid 101. 7VD is simply exploring the upper limits of Passive Raiding. And yes, sometimes it comes across as ‘bragging’. Personally, I think it’s simply exploring the possibilities of the current game design.
And some people have gotten overly ‘offended’ by it. Those people should consider contacting their primary physician about an emergency humor gland transplant, since theirs is obviously faulty.
Really, I haven’t seen anyone from 7VD rubbing this in peoples faces. Lighthearted banter, sure, but no one’s being a prick about it. (view post) |

Seriously?
Okay.
If the player with the name that comes last alphabetically is the least likely to be targeted by Assholes in a tie situation, then that player has a very minor advantage in Domination.
Very Minor.

Can holding twelve forums be considered "raiding" in any normal sense of the word?scullyangel Posted:
I disagree with this last part. I’ve seen the total count in the 20s as often as I’ve seen it in the 5-6 range. I think it would slightly reduce the ‘free vanilla’, but it wouldn’t eliminate it, not by a long shot.
It would hurt the Small Klans doing Organized Raids the most to raise the threshold, IMHO. And that’s not really fair. (view post) |

Klan raidingWow, power down the snippiness, folks. There’s room enough in the forum for a few Egos, yes? We’re just having a little bit of fun here. We’re simply saying that we’ve clearly illustrated an effective tactic in Domination. Up until recently, there’s only been ‘talk’ of Raid limits. But no serious discussion that I’ve seen.
And there’s already a limit on Raids. You can only join one Raid at a time per account. So, even if you’re in multiple Klans with Multiple Alts, you can only benefit from the Passive Raiding tactic with one character at a time.
So, lighten up, kids. As I’ve said above, both Passive & Organized Raids have their benefits. Let’s just coexist, shall we?
As for me, I’m gonna go watch my South Park Season 11 DVD for a few hours while I earn a few Scoops. (view post) |

If that happens (which I doubt it will), it depends on the number per day limit. Like I said, 3-4 Passive Raids per day is plenty.
If a limit is imposed, then that’s simply proof that 7VD found a significant advantage in Domination.
So, we either get to keep our Passive Raiding strategy (until we get bored with it), or it gets nerfed and we get the validation that it was an overpowered tactic.
I like those choices. (view post) |

i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weekswas Posted: A) If a player came in here and asked why he couldn’t Tubmail The_Shit with suggestions about how to improve INCIT, is that automatically RPing, or might that be a valid question, especially from a newbie? B) In the context of the game, the character (Ravit) exists. Just as you can add a certain NPC to your Friend list and receive an in-game benefit for doing so, why is it unreasonable to assume that Tubmailing an NPC might yield a similar benefit? Or perhaps what Crinkz meant to suggest is that Ravit is actually a bot. For every single perspective you can present that suggests he was RPing, I can present a perspective that suggests he was discussing a valid game-related issue. In other words, that part of the debate is a stalemate. It is unclear whether or not Crinkz was RPing. Now, as far as how it should have been moderated, by the moderators own standards, the thread should have simply been moved and, at best, the player should have been warned. If Crinkz has received warnings in the past for a similar offense and was advised to not be ambiguous with his posts in GD (i.e., told to be perfectly clear that he wasn’t RPing), then this ban is legit. But otherwise, it is not. (view post) |

i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weeksThe title of the thread was a question.
And even if it didn’t have a question, a thread doesn’t require a question to be a valid discussion thread. As I saw it, it was simply an initial post in regards to discussing why Ravit’s tubmail address was invalid.
Unless we’re banning people for having crappy threads now? (view post) |

I read that entire thread. How was that Role-Playing? If that was role-playing, then every single person that was discussing Tubmailing the Starving_2_Death NPC needs to get a 2 Week ban as well.
If that was the reason for the ban, that is the thinnest excuse I have ever seen, anywhere. It wasn’t until you just claimed that it was Role-Playing that I even saw that, if someone was specifically assuming Crinkz was trying to RP, that it even appears to be RPing.
Seriously. If that’s considered RPing, then there are a crapload of posts in GD that should be considered weak attempts at Trolling, and each of those players needs a 2 week ban as well.
It looks to be a legitimate question regarding the Game. And it was answered by Largehardoncollider.
A tech question about the game, answered by another player. In other words, exactly the purpose of GD.
This ban is fundamentally wrong, and I really think it needs to be reviewed by someone other than a Mod. (view post) |

i want an answer as to why crinks is banned for 2 weeksThere has to be more to this story. If there’s not, and that was the sole reason Crinkz was banned, that is total and utter B.S.
For the most part, when I hear people griping about someone getting banned, I usually see the reasoning behind it, even if I don’t personally agree with the ban.
But in this case? I can’t even fathom the reasoning.
Whoever banned him, please explain to us why he was banned, so that the rest of us can follow the rules. I know posting someone’s personal information is a banworthy offense.
But Ravit is a fictional character. Would I get banned if I posted Sherlock Holmes’ personal street address? How about if I gave you Superman’s home phone number?

Again, why bother? I’ve earned 150+ Scoops via Passive Raiding during this current Dom round (i.e., it’s been just barely over two days since the round started), and I didn’t join every Raid. If I can get that number of scoops just by clicking a link and walking away for two hours, and doing that about 3-4 times each day, and still have all of my forum visits for Solo Vanilla Raids & Pistachio Streaks? I have a 100+ scoop lead on my nearest rival in that bracket, and I haven’t run a single visit yet. And every single player in the Klan can benefit exactly the same way, without the need for coordinated Raids. (view post) |
