over the course of a minute or two every forum idea got downvoted to 1 or less except treefuckers.
i mean the votings been awful, but the sudden burst of downvoting seems suspicious. |

maybe it would help with foul play if we couldn’t see the current status of forum ideas voting, except for our own subs through the “see how my submissions are doing” link. |

A klanmate of mine reported 27 consecutive downvotes on a submission. AU has been voted out. Now this. Worth looking into, I think. |

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this was weird. Is this klan voting? It cant be just that everyone likes Treefuckers and hates everything else. Treefuckers sucks. |

If there is foul play, it’s pretty pathetic, as that idea had a solid chance of winning without it. I say downvote the hell out of Treefuckers just to be safe. |

I noticed that, too. Mine was sitting in second place (granted second place was wavering between 1 and 2 votes) and within 2 minutes it was down to -2.) It’s crawled back up a spot, but I keep wondering if it just doesn’t seem like it would be a fun idea to design for or if there is some sort of systematic voting going on. I’d rather people just disliked the idea, it’s no fun for anyone when the voting is manipulated. |

Okay, I’ve looked into it and there was some voting fraud going on.
Someone had created a series of illegal alts and was using them to vote poorly. I’m not sure who it was exactly, but I suspect that it might be someone who was banned repeatedly yesterday and who sent me a few threatening emails later:

This person is the same person who has repeatedly (read: at least 4 times) sent me 3-5 tubmails or emails in a row about a particular issue, impatient that I haven’t replied to the first one that was sent 10 minutes before the 5th one arrived.
Anyway, two of their known IPs have been banned, and all the poor votes were deleted and everyone’s scores were updated. If you were buried as a result you should be unburied but please let me know if it isn’t working properly.
One thing I would advise is: don’t vote in retaliation until you have heard from us. You might be voting something down that doesn’t deserve it. I hate to say it but maybe you should prevent people from voting until the have met a minimum credit threshold. Unlike flamebate where you need newbies to have the ability to post questions I’m not sure it’s necessary for new players to immediately start voting in forumbuildr. By limiting forumbuildr voting to people that have say 5 levels you can discourage people from spamming illegal multis in order to wreck an endgame. |
