I’ve wondered this, too.

I have two theories:

(1) It’s a homophobic thing.

(2) It’s meant to be a juxtaposition of extremes (erotica x gore, as David Lynch did in “Wild at Heart.”­)

I wish my second theory were true; it would be a better reflection on the intelligence of the posters. But it seems unlikely, as you never see images of straight sex juxtaposed with shock images.
